“HINEINU” in Hebrew means “We Are Here”. The idea of the Hineinu Caring Committee began as a Tzedakah project for the Adult B’not Mitzvah Class of 2004. We believed that as a community, we at Congregation Sukkat Shalom could provide valuable support for each other during times of crisis or unexpected need. Out of this effort arose the Hineinu Caring Committee whose members and volunteers are committed to helping during challenging times, whether due to an illness, the birth of a baby, or the loss of a loved one. This support can take the form of a telephone call, a home cooked meal, a visit, a ride to a doctor’s appointment, etc. We do this for each other as a congregational family and spiritual community.

In addition, the Hineinu Committee has ongoing activities and projects such as assembling and delivering Shabbat baskets, scheduling trainings and speakers, and program planning and development.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, if you would like to update your volunteer form, or if you would like to participate in other Hineinu activities and have not yet filled out a volunteer form, you may do so online by clicking on the form below.
