Hineinu/Caring
Hineinu/Caring
The Hebrew word, Hineinu, means “We Are Here”. This simple phrase describes the mission of the Hineinu Committee. At Sukkat Shalom “We are Here” means that temple members provide support to other temple members in times of celebration, crisis, loss, or unexpected need.
The Committee’s goal is to connect temple members who are willing to volunteer their time with other members who are in need of assistance. Temple members in need of support may be facing a serious illness, grieving the loss of a loved one, or adjusting to the birth of a child. Their needs can include transportation to medical appointments, delivering meals, or other simple tasks.
