Whether you’re a Torah Study regular or a lover of musicals, perhaps you think you already know the story of Joseph inside and out. But what if we told you there’s more to the story than you could ever guess? Join Rabbi Sam Gordon for a radical reading of the story of Joseph. In this three session course, you’ll explore new aspects of the relationships between the characters in Joseph’s story. Why did Jacob dress his son, Joseph, in drag? Why was Jacob so devastated by Joseph’s non-death? Why didn’t Judah grieve for his family, and what happened that changed him? What happened in Egypt that inspired Joseph’s relationships with the Egyptian court and altered his relationships with his family?

You are invited to attend as many of the three sessions as you are able; you’ll get the most out of the course if you can attend all three sessions. This class meets:

  • Tuesday, January 7, 7:00pm
  • Tuesday, January 14, 7:00pm
  • Wednesday, January 22, 7:00pm
