12:00 PM - 1:30 PMZoomThe Intersection of Climate Justice and Environmental Justice in the Great Lakes Region
Debbie Chizewer, Managing Attorney, Earthjustice’s Midwest Office, will talk about the relationship between poverty, race, and climate change.
As we grapple with the current and future impacts of climate change--by advocating for a clean energy future, we have a critical opportunity to confront racial, economic and environmental justice.
Chizewer graduated from Princeton University and earned her JD at the Boston University School of Law. After law school, she clerked in federal district court in Delaware, served as an attorney for the National Wildlife Federation’s Montana office, worked as an assistant director at the Alliance for the Great Lakes’ Chicago office, and practiced in the environmental law group at a large Washington, D.C., law firm.
